| Old Fort Jackson provides a cannon salute to all warships visiting Savannah. The smaller patrol vessels and cutters pass Old Fort Jackson and then moor on River Street. Larger destroyers and amphibious ships moor at GPA's Ocean Terminal. The Savannah Council coordinates these visits and hosts receptions for visiting crews. The most popular visits are during St. Patrick's Day activities and during OktoberFest, and Savannah averages a visit each month throughout the year. Click photos to enlarge and read captions.
